That’s a pretty specific date to be pushed back to. GameStop usually has a game listed for the 1st, 15th, or 30th when they don’t know a specific date. Oct. 29th would put BWII out on a Monday. No confirmation from Nintendo yet, if this is true lets hope they are spending the time to iron out a few bugs and make the game a more polished experience.

Excerpt from latest Nintendo Power
Following up on the critically well-received action title for the GamCube, Battalion Wars 2 blends seamlessly the shooterand tactics genres; the result is more akin to playing with a handful of army men than to leading a squad in a game like rainbow six.
Where as the first Battalion Wars was more straightforward miliatary account, the sequel adds a more supernatural twist to the story. The game opens with a brief introductory lev el that features a host of mythical, orc-like characters and a tale of a strange, all powerfull weapon. When you fast forward to the future, you learn six military factions vying for some sort of special weapon, but nobody know quite what it is or how it works. Expect a ton of plot twists as the story unfolds through the eyes of the various commanders.
The Wii feels purpose built for Battalion Wars 2: You control your character by using the control stick [ ], and you use the remote to aim at your enemies. You also use the remote to tell your troops at which foes they should target their fire. You don't play as a specific character; instead you can swap members of your force by pointing and clicking on the units. You can even swap troops with vehicles. Depeniding on the unit or vehicle type, you can perform motion sentive maneuvers; for example, as a foot soldier, you can roll out of the way of enemy fire with the quick shake of the nunchuck.
Beyond the new controls Battallion Wars 2 also introduces forms of gameplay, namely nautical warfare. In one early level we played, we had to navigate the waters along the beachhead and provide cover to a landing party as it stormed a seaside base. There are plenty of new types of soldiers, vehicles, and aircraft to control, too. You don't have to go it alone, either. Co-op play allows you and a friend to take on enemy forces together or go head-to-head in a variety of multiplayer modes.

Welcome to The Official Buy Battalion Wars 2 Wii Campaign HQ
Hi everybody and welcome to the official Buy Battalion Wars for Wii campaign!!!!!
As many of you know the original Gamecube Battalion Wars was a fanastic game even though it was lacking in some departments like multiplayer and replay value, and sadly it sold rather poorly generally being overlooked by the gameing community, despite this nintendo have decided to give us a sequel and from how things are looking this game is going to be awesome.
Some of the new great features include online mutiplayer and co op as well as system link
and local multiplayer add to this the inclusion all new units, beefed up multiplayer and a refined control scheme, new tactical managment and we have one hell of game being cooking up!!!
This is where we come in unlike the main Nintendo franchises like Metroid, Mario and Zelda which will sell a crapton of copies buy name, alone even if they are not very good this game will sell poorly unless something is done it has had little to no hype from Nintendo themselves and the gamming press so we the fans must group together and hype this game up and spread the word on how great it is going to be, but you ask how do we do this well bellow is a few simple steps on how you can do your part to help this game out because we dont want this to be another example of games like Eternal Darkness and Lunar that get overlooked and sell poorly even though being technically better than many of the top selling first party titles.... cough cough Mario Party cough...
If we work together we can make sure that this series is a success it deserves to be!!!
